These companies fetch prices from a huge panel of car insurance providers and list the best results. They don't all check the same policies or give you the same prices, so it is worth checking them all. Click a logo to go to the web site.
These companies offer policies from their own or an associated company. They may offer introductory freebies and more extensive cover than the cheapest insurers found by the comparison sites, so they are worth checking, especially if you want specific features.

There are lots of insurance comparison web sites. Many of them advertise on the TV and say that it is only necessary to fill in one form. Their's of course!
So why bother going to more than one web site and filling in more than one form when you want a competitive quote?
It is true that the price comparison people look at policies and prices offered by lots of insurance companies and brokers. But none of them looks at every insurance company. None of them looks at Direct Line, for example. The ONLY way to get a Direct Line quote is to go to Direct Line. You can do that by phone or by clicking their logo in the column on the right.
You can use the comparison sites to makes the bargain hunting a bit quicker though. They get car insurance quotes for you from different panels of insurers and other intermediaries. Although there is some overlap between the insurance quotes you will get, remember none of them will get you a quote from all insurers. Not only that, different comparison sites usually give you different quotes for the same policy from the same insurance company. So it really is worth trying as many as you can.
What is
Carbon offsetting?
For every 1kg of CO2 produced by your car each year, a donation is made that pays for 1kg to be saved by a climate friendly project somewhere else in the world - one balancing the other to make your driving carbon neutral.
If you are in a rush, check ibuyeco, to get a fair range of competitive quotes and carbon offsetting. If you have a bit more time add some more of the comparison sites. This way you will get a broader range of quotes from a wider range of insurers. However, if you really want to be sure to get the very best deal, you will need to try the direct providers as well, especially Direct Line because you will not get their quote via any of the comparison sites.
Yes, it's a nuisance, but the last one you try may find you the cheapest quote, or the quote that best meets your requirements. And filling in a few forms is better than filling in hundreds of forms (see the list below). The insurance companies say that if you have the information to hand it takes about 5 minutes to fill in each form. Spread it over a few evenings and it will not be so bad - and could save you enough to make the effort well worthwhile.
If you try each of the companies in the boxes on the right, you will have covered hundreds of insurance companies and intermediaries including (this list is correct at the time of writing but may change):
1st Quote, AA, aQuote, Allianz, Auto Direct, Axa, Broker King, Budget, Bullseye, CarNet, Chaucer, Churchill, CIS, Compare the Market, Corinthian, Cornhill, Dial Direct, Diamond, Direct Choice, Direct Line, eCar, Elephant, Endsleigh, Equity Red Star, Esure, First Alternative, Fortis, GoCompare, Groupama, Halifax, Hastings Direct, Highway, ibuyeco, Insure, Insure & Go, It's4me, KGM, Kwikfit, L&G, Ladybird, Lancaster, Liberty, Link, LocalBroker, Markerstudy, M&S, Masterquote, MMA, MoreThan, Motorquote direct, MyMotorQuote, NIG, Norwich Union, One Quote, Performance Direct, Privilege, Provident, Quinn Direct, QuoteA, QuoteLine, RAC, Royal & Sun Alliance, Sabre, Saga, Sainsburys, Service, Sheila's Wheels, Simple Cover, Swiftcover, Swinton, Tesco, Thames, The Green Insurance Company, Wiser Choice, Wren, Yes Insurance, Zenith, Zurich.
