Perhaps you know what you want, you just want to compare prices and to get the best deal. Perhaps you want to find new products that are not available in the so-same shops in town. Whatever you want to find, this is the place to find it.
Most people associate The Body Shop® with ethical body care. There is also another name you should bear in mind if ethical shopping appeals to you. Green People offer handmade health and beauty products that are 100% natural and certified organic. They also donate 10% of net profits to charity and offer free postage on your first order.
For traditional branded fragrances there is a huge amount of choice. If you are buying for yourself and don't need fancy packaging, you could try Fragrance direct, who sell unboxed testers as well as retail packaged products. Why spend lots on packaging if you are only going to throw it away?
For the full packaged product, where you get the best bargain will depend to some extent on the amount you buy, because they have different delivery charges.
If you are just buying one product, choose companies with free post, such as FragranceX
(but you have to use the free post code) and Feel Unique, or that charge by the item, such as Cheap Smells. If you are buying three or more products, it may be cheaper to go to one of the companies that charges a fixed postal rate per order.
What's the
difference?
Fragrances contain a perfume oil and something to make it evaporate - usually alcohol. The greater the percentage of perfume oil, the longer it will last and the more it will cost.
Perfume has 15% - 30% of perfume oil and will last about 6 - 8 hours.
Eau de Parfum (EDP) has 7% - 15% perfume oil and will last 5 - 7 hours.
Eau de Toilette or EDT has 4% - 8% of perfume oil and will last 4 - 6 hours.
Eau de Cologne (EDC) and aftershave have 3 - 5% of perfume oil and will last 2 - 3 hours.
Look out for freebies, too. Perfume Point usually give a free gift with orders over a certain threshold, typically £40. They sell a huge range of designer perfumes, all genuine and no testers, yet they do this at up to 80% off the full retail price. Their range includes new fragrances as well as traditional favourites.
Do fragrances always smell the same?
The smell of a perfume depends on the chemistry and natural balance of the skin. Perfumes can smell different on different skins.
